Spacemen Three were an English space rock band of the 1980s whose career spanned from a post-punk era to Acid House. Jason Pierce and Peter Kember (Pierce periodically credited when J. Astronaut & Kember ordinarily called Sonic Boom) formed a class action around Rugby, Warwickshire inside the early part of the decade & began touring, eventually recording in 1986 on Glass Records. Sound Of Confusion was not successful commercially however it attracted the fast fanbase; its watch-higher, The Perfect Prescription, expanded the class action's core of fans.
Around 1989 Playing With Fire, which expanded on the psychedelic and drone themes of the earliest albums, was freed. Its 2nd individual reached #1 on the UK indie stock and index charts. Presently when, a combination of personnel changes, drug problems & inter-b& tension (especially between Kember and President pierce) began to break the band apart. Recurring around 1991 wwhen their last proper album, though its recording reflected this split as for each one principal recorded the side in different studios, by using the handle of Mudhoney's 'When Tomorrow Hits' to separate the babies. It was their virtually all popular release, however Kember & President pierce got well-nigh already formed separate elastic, Spectrum and Spiritualized, respectively. A final gesture that contributed to the split was President pierce's guide to release the handle of The Troggs' 'Any Way You Need Us', which saw Kember declare a band all over.
Semi-legitimate recordings Taking Drugs to Make Music to Take Drugs To and Dreamweapon, early demos & the survive recording severally, began water of survive, demonstration or even unofficial releases that has continued for the intervening decade. A highlight of its posthumous work is the band's singles compilation, perchance a better introduction to the breadth of their act.
Within 1998, the benefit album was freed in Rocket Girl, which included tracks by Mogwai and Low. Kember's Spectrum has toured under a banner 'Songs A Spacemen Taught America', when President pierce habitually includes their songs within his Spiritualized placed. Around 2004, America journalist Erik Morse published his account of the band's life & function, Dreamweapon.
